Back in Auckland again looking for a job. Just applied for our Oz visas for next year - fingers crossed. Got a flat with Lucy and Kev by the water front in Auck - v nice. Weather isn't bad - a lot cooler than Fiji - which is really nice :-)
Fiji was ace! V hot - 35 degrees - couldn't move during the day! everything you see about Fiji on the TV is true. Water is clear aquamarine (you can see for 30 meters underwater). We spent the first night in Nadi where the airport is. It's a pretty run down place where people only stay to be close to the airport. Our hostel was pretty bad - kinda had a charm to it tho. We took a boat out to one of the islands (Mana - part of the mamacunas if you must know). It's amazing there. Got all our meals and a room for $30 a night - v cheap. Went snorkeling there and saw Stingrays, Sea Cucumbers and heaps of bright blue star fish - never seen anything like it before. Ended up spending 4 nights on Mana just chillin out. They usually had something on every night like a Kava night (kava is a mildly narcotic local drink that looks and tastes like a warm muddy puddle), and Crab racing. I bought my crab (called Gavin Hastings) for $8 and he didn't move all night! Bloody typical. Photos on the way when I get 'em back.
Well thats us on the road again this afternoon. Flying from Edinburgh to Paris this afternoon then on to Singapore, Sydney and finally Fiji where we're gonna stay for a week. It's been cool fun back at home - cant wait to come back already and we haven't even left yet! Looking forward to Fiji tho. See you all soon.
The Story so far....
Me and Sarah have been in travelling in N.Z. for the last 8 months. We came back here about 4 weeks ago for my big Sis's wedding. We're only half way through our N.Z. visas tho so we're heading back there next week (via Fiji for a week). Hopefully pick up some work in Auckland where we've got a flat with 2 mates. Looking forward to Christmas on the Beach.
